About Marian

Marian Memorial Chapels opened its doors for business on October 20, 1991 as a family owned and independently operated full-service mortuary.   The family intended to provide a funeral home where all would feel welcome, where fine facilities are available, sensitive staff abound, and true personal service can be found.  And they wanted to provide the quality service at a fair price.  It was first managed by two brothers – the eldest of four siblings and the youngest of the three boys. Marian Chapels

After working for 6 years at Arlington Memorial Chapels along Araneta Avenue in Quezon City under his uncle, who owns it, the eldest came up with the idea of putting up a funeral home in their family property along Marcos Highway in Antipolo City.  With the help of his uncle, he learned the business well, got his embalmer’s license, and garnered the nerve to venture on his own with his family’s support.

Their family is a native of Calumpang, Marikina.  Their parents were both professionals – their father was an electrical engineer for Meralco while their mom was an OB-GYNE doctor at St. Luke’s Hospital.  Being loving parents, they gave their blessing for the venture and allowed the use of their land.  Construction began in mid-1991 for a 3-chapel establishment.

The first couple of years were very challenging, and it proved to be too taxing for the younger sibling.   He left his older brother to look for greener pasture on his own to support his new family.   The eldest was determined to succeed so he plowed ahead on his own.  He tried new marketing strategies to get the Marian name recognized and patronized within the immediate areas and forged tie-ups with insurance companies – Pacific Plans (now APEC), Prudentialife, and Philam Life (now PhilPlans) – as an accredited servicing mortuary.

Within 3-5 years through sheer determination, the eldest was able to turn things around.   By 2002, MMCI was able to add a second floor to the existing structure and double its number of chapels.

In 2006, MMCI decided to incorporate.   In early 2007, it employed the services of FPD Global & FPD Asia to help manage the property by providing a general manager, to give MMCI a more strategic direction, and to help certify MMCI as a 9001:2008 ISO company.

Presently, Marian Memorial Chapels continues to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, employs over 30 diligent staff, handles roughly 25-35 cases per month, and now includes Cocoplans, Cocolife, Eternal Plans, Provident Plans, and Paz Life Plans as strategic business partners.
